Fire Damages Keizer Duplex

Keizer Fire District responded to a report of a house fire shortly before 8:00 am today. Upon arriving at the duplex, firefighters observed heavy smoke and flames coming from one of the garages.

The caller who lived in the garage reported the house fire on Pierce Drive N in Keizer at 7:53am while he was evacuating the home with his dog.

Large field fire in North Keizer threatens several homes

Five fire agencies responded to the scene of a three alarm high risk grass fire this afternoon near Keizer, located in a large wheat field. A farmer had been cutting the chaff in his harvested wheat field when a bearing went out on the tractor and caught the field on fire.

Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast

The Keizer Volunteer Firefighters Association will hold its annual Mothers Day Breakfast on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the Keizer Fire Station, 661 Chemawa Rd. NE in Keizer. Hours of the breakfast are 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

The menu includes all of the pancakes, eggs, and sausage you can eat. Milk, coffee and orange juice will also be served.

Cost for this year’s breakfast is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12 years of age.
