Here at Keizer Fire we offer many opportunities to volunteer.

Keizer Fire's Student Program
- Registration and or participation at an accredited college
- Valid and insurable Oregon Driver License
- NFPA Firefighter I
- NFPA Driver
- NFPA Hazardous Materials Operations Responder
- Oregon EMT – Basic (Preferred)
Benefits:
- College scholarship for tuition, books and or related approved fees not to exceed $5,250.00 per calendar year.
- Cooperative Work Experience-College Credits.
- Technical and specialty on the job training and experience.
- Resume, training hours, and certification.
- Use of station facilities and equipment per policy. Appropriate use of computers, internet, office equipment, laundry, cable TV, sleeping quarters, shop facility.
- Program mentoring coaching, and counseling to succeed from veteran personnel.
- Use of on-duty station-uniform, structural turnouts and wildland gear.
The program accepts individuals who are enrolled in the Chemeketa Fire Program, and will consider other accredited college programs. As a member of the student program, the student volunteer will be assigned to one of the (3) shifts.
Student hours are every sixth day; for either a 12 hour or 24 hour shift 6pm to 6am the following morning or 6am to 6am on weekends or holidays.

Resident Volunteer Student Program
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Posses a valid and insurable Oregon Driver’s License
- Enrolled as a full-time student in the Fire Suppression Program at Chemeketa Community College (other accredited college programs will be considered)
- Successfully pass a physical exam, including a drug test
- Successfully pass a background investigation and DMV check
Benefits:
- Free housing at the Keizer Fire District’s station.
- Study area, computer access w/ internet, paid utilities.
- Up to $1,500.00 per term in tuition reimbursement.
- Fire and EMS training and experience.
- Use of on-duty station-uniform, structural turnouts and wildland gear.
Participants will work under the established District volunteer position description #5.15 and are expected to assist with volunteer sponsored events, activities, and District training.
Participants are directly supervised by the on-duty officer
Participants must maintain a 3.0-or better, “B” average GPA and are required to submit a copy of each progress and final report card to the Districts Training Chief.
Participants serve at the discretion of the Fire Chief and are at will members.
Applicants must complete a Keizer Fire District volunteer application and return it to Division Chief Brozovich. Applicant will be schedule for an oral interview.

Keizer Fire District Volunteers
Keizer Fire District Volunteers
We appreciate the involvement of the community members in our delivery of emergency services. As a combination Fire District (a combination of volunteer and career members) we rely on volunteer members to be extremely involved in our District’s operation and delivery of services. We train all members of the Fire District to perform as team members with a high degree of proficiency.The Volunteer Firefighters Association is also a very active association and you can view more information on their Facebook page located here: KVFA Facebook. They are involved in many community events.

Support Volunteer
The Keizer Fire District and Keizer Volunteer Firefighters Association is looking for volunteers to help with events! The Non-Response Volunteer helps the Keizer Fire District and Keizer Volunteer Firefighters Association by attending District and community events. They provide public education and support District operations. People in this position work as a team member with other personnel to accomplish their assigned goals, objectives, and follow the directions provided by Officers.
